2. A2/O Process

The system adopts the A2/O process to ensure the removal of COD, ammonia nitrogen, and total nitrogen while strengthening phosphorus removal. Microorganisms grow on spherical filler media, creating a biofilm that is resistant to shock loads and ensures stable equipment operation. The design concept utilizes low volumetric loading with a hydraulic retention time of more than 24 hours.

  • Simultaneous removal of organic matter, nitrogen, and phosphorus.
  • Simple process flow with shorter hydraulic retention time.
  • Prevents sludge expansion; SVI is generally less than 100.
  • High phosphorus content in sludge (above 2.5%).

3. Process Description

  1. Sewage is collected via pipe network; grease traps remove oils.
  2. Bar screens separate large particles to prevent blockage.
  3. Equalization tank stabilizes water quality and quantity.
  4. Lifting pumps transfer sewage to the treatment tank.
  5. Five compartments: oil separation/sand sedimentation, anaerobic, anoxic, aerobic, and sedimentation.
  6. Ecological filter provides final polished treatment before discharge.
  7. Made of SMC/Glass fiber reinforced plastic material.
