Product Description

CPE Resin Overview
CPE resin (Chlorinated Polyethylene) is a thermoplastic elastomer created by chlorinating polyethylene. It offers exceptional weather resistance, chemical resistance, and flame retardancy. It is widely utilized in wire and cable insulation, automotive components, and roofing membranes. Known for superior impact strength and flexibility, it is ideal for products requiring high durability.

Technical Systems

Reinforcement & Filling System

CPE is a non-self-reinforcing rubber requiring agents like carbon black or silica to enhance tear resistance. It supports high filler systems including calcium carbonate and talcum powder to optimize cost and performance.

Plasticizing System

Ester and aromatic hydrocarbon plasticizers (DOTP, DOA) are compatible with CPE. DOA and DOS are excellent for providing cold resistance and maintaining heat stability in adhesive applications.

Vulcanization System

As a saturated rubber, CPE uses specific vulcanization systems: Thiourea, Peroxide, Thiadiazole, and Triazole dimercapto amine salts. The peroxide system is favored for faster speed and better physical properties in tape and automotive hoses.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: What are the primary uses of CPE Resin?
CPE is used extensively as an impact modifier for PVC window profiles, pipes, and as a base for rubber applications like wire insulation and automotive hoses.
Q2: How does CPE improve PVC products?
It promotes rapid plasticization, enhances melt strength, and significantly improves impact resistance and low-temperature durability.
Q3: Is CPE resin environmentally friendly?
Yes, modern CPE formulations utilize environmentally compliant stabilizers and plasticizers, replacing older substances like DOP.
Q4: What is the difference between IM-HT and CM series?
The IM-HT series is designed for plastic impact modification (like PVC pipes), while the CM series is optimized for rubber applications requiring oil and heat resistance.
Q5: What is the standard packaging for CPE powder?
The standard packaging is 25kg per PP bag, suitable for moisture protection and easy transport.
Q6: Can CPE be used in flame retardant applications?
Absolutely. CPE has inherent flame-retardant properties due to its chlorine content and is often used to improve flame resistance in ABS, PE, and PP products.
